Consume.Use.Improve.

What strategy or framework can we use to get better? Our current daily habits are probably insufficient (mine are); they could be better aligned with our overarching goals in life. How much time do you waste every day? Could we use that time to improve? If we could, how would we do it?

Consume.Use.Improve.

Consume

Consume information. Through books. Through podcasts. Through tutorials. Through documentaries. Sometimes we do this passively, sometimes we do this actively. The challenge is to consume with intention. Consume information in a way that has a viable path to implementation in your life. Consumption doesn't mean much if you don't do anything with it, it's just a waste of time.

Use

After consumption, USE what you've learned. Write it down in a journal, write a blog post, implement your new strength training program, have the difficult conversations, spearhead a new project at work. You must implement what you've learned or it doesn't count.

To learn and not to do is really not to learn. -Stephen Covey

Improve

Only after completing the first two steps can you actually improve as a person and as a professional. There's really no effort at this stage, it's a natural consequence of consuming information and applying it to your life in a productive manner. If done effectively, you have no choice but to improve.

That is the goal, constant improvement, constant elevation.

Positive Energy Activates Constant Elevation [PEACE]. -RZA (from the song Constant Elevation by Gravediggaz)
